Family Volunteering at Atlanta Streets Alive

The volunteer tee

Atlanta Streets Alive was the perfect family volunteer event.   The weather was great for the walkers and bikers who decorated North Highland Avenue.

On our walk from the check-in table to our assigned water station, we stopped by the Atlanta Braves booth where the kids took a couple of swings and received free caps.  We saw a few other tables that we would visit on the way back.  We finally made our way through the festive bicycle parade, past the band performance and to our station on the corner of N. Highland and Cleburne.

Along with our new volunteer friends,  we gave out cups of water to lots of  thirsty walkers, riders and a few four- legged, furry event goers.

When our shift ended, we enjoyed some freshly-squeezed lemonade,  played a game of street hockey, threw a few footballs with the Atlanta Falcons  and designed a handful of tiny buttons.  Our job was finished so we grabbed a few snacks donated by Whole Foods and headed home.
